Cheryl McMickle has been living, teaching and making art in the Eastern Arkansas Delta more than twenty-five years. She is a contemporary folk artist whose work includes painting, charcoal, and mixed media. Her work focuses primarily on landscapes of the Arkansas-Mississippi Delta but found still life and the Ozarks find their way into her work as well.
Cheryl is a member of the Arkansas Artist Registry through the Arkansas Arts Council. Three of her works have been featured in the AAC's Small Works on Paper show and displayed around the state.
She is always open to commission work. "I love to take someone's memories and work them into a mixed media piece. If you have a photograph(s) of a special place, I love to transform those into paintings, drawings, or mixed media." Click here to contact her.
Cheryl McMickle is originally from western Arkansas (Roots in Ft. Smith, Booneville, Van Buren). She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Art and her teaching credentials. She has a Masters in Education from Oklahoma University.
She currently lives with her husband in Marianna and teaches in Forrest City, AR.
